Arkansas Bass Fishing Tournaments Right Around the Corner

The Russelville Courier reports that the Arkansas Spring bass fishing season, with it’s full slate of accompanying tournaments, is practically upon us.

“The first big weekend of the season on Lake Dardanelle is Feb. 27 as the Metro Area Bass Club hosts its annual team bass tournament out of Lake Dardanelle State Park from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. The entry fee for this event is $100 per team, which includes entry into the big bass pot. For more information, interested anglers may call (501) 231-7597 or (501) 416-4668.

Usually when March arrives, the statewide tournament scene is in full gear. If you can’t find a tournament, you’re simply not looking for one. This year the first weekend of March brings the B.A.S.S. Weekend Series to town March 6, and this should bring in anglers from across the state of Arkansas as well as a few out-of-state guests. The weekend series is one of those rare opportunities for a weekend angler to have a little luck and one day end up in the Super Bowl of bass fishing, the Bassmasters Classic.
